RENATA ROSELINE ALKOFF [ Age: 27 || Sex: FEMALE|| Orientation: DEMISEXUAL || D.O.B: 1986, April 20 ] REGISTERED: GRIM / UN AGENT mannerisms ☑ obedient ☑ disciplined ☑ well tempered ☑ decisive ☑ adaptable ☒ indifferent ☒ anti-social ☒ guarded ☒ gloomy ☒ unforgiving preferences ☑ quiet atmosphere ☑ books ☑ a decent scenery ☒ loud music ☒ being touched ☒ fire registered ability Memory Manipulation: the ability to control memories of oneself and others, allowing her to modify, fabricate, suppress, influence, repair, restore, erase, detect, and view memories. She can change memories to confuse, wipe away certain memories to cause amnesia, and/or enter the victim into a psychic vision, replaying their memory. This ability does not enhance her physical body in any way, however it aids her insomnia and infrequent headaches. Her mind is stronger then the average human or grim, allowing her to posses a mild psychic block towards other users of mental or psychic abilities; however, it is only as strong as her will. This ability does not affect those who posses psychic shields or blocks or those with the ability to see into the past (users of retrocognition). To use her abilities she must use physical contact, typically through her hands. Level I: Enhanced memorization - whether this is an effect of her condition or simply a sign of her intelligence, Rena is capable of memorizing things almost instantly after learning them. Information in books, text, or images is the easiest to manage (it takes her one time to read through something to memorize), when it comes to the motions or fighting style of others, it takes two to three times witnessing a technique before she can fully memorize and copy it herself, this depends on the speed of the individual of course (those with super speed would be nearly impossible for her to mimic). This does not require physical contact to the subject or object (The only ability the does not require this). Memory/thought reading - she can see into the minds of others, and read their thoughts or see their memories. This requires physical contact from her to the being, typically through her hands. She can only read so fast, and if lots of information is needed especially if it is not something recent in the persons memory or thoughts she would require more time and energy to do so (or else control will be lost if she is rushed or under stress. This could result in the subject being accidentally implanted with memories or thoughts of her own, Rena absorbing too many memories, or causing her or the subject to black out.) Memory replication - copying ones memories. This can be used to transfer one persons memories to the other via memory replication --> memory implantation. Level II: Knowledge replication - like her photogenic memory, Rena can copy the memory of others and use it to gain knowledge from them. EX: if she copied the knowledge of a doctor or scientist she could obtain their knowledge and skills. Memory projection - at this stage she can willingly use this ability (rather then it be some sort of accident), to project her memories or thoughts into others. This takes much more articulation in her skill, because of the risk of others learning her darkest secrets; therefore, she needs to have extreme concentration or time. Any stress or pressure while doing this can cause her to open the flood gates and accidentally push her memories and secrets into the mind of the subject. Induce unconsciousness - by activating the nerves in the brain through bringing out thousands of memories in the subjects mind at once she can induce said subject to 'black out'. This ability happens in an instant, due to the speed of neuron communication in the brain, though if someone pulls away from her in midst of doing this it can result in the subject to have a seizure. Level III: Memory erase - at this level Rena can utilize the ultimate strength of her power to erase ones memory, including her own if she desired. This includes erasing selective memories, and manually resetting (which involves wiping ones memory completely causing an amnesia effect). This process takes time, because it requires her to sift through memories one by one to choose those that she wants to erase. Memory implantation - in addition to memory erase, Rena can also implant memories into the mind. This requires her to read the persons thoughts and memories first, or else the memory that she implants may not seem logical to the subject. Because she has to read thoughts first this ability takes more energy and effort out of her. Depending how long the implanted memory is or how distorted she makes it, the effort can cause her to have headaches or feel her energy is drain. This ability includes: placing herself in the subjects memory, removing memories of herself from the subjects memory, or distort and twist the memories of the subject to potentially change or add additional opinions, thoughts, ideas, or fears. Memory suppression - this allows her to suppress the memories of other behind a mental barrier or block, until she wishes to bring it back out. This requires an immense amount of energy, or else the wall she creates within the persons head will be weak and breakdown, therefore this skill is rarely used. bio Rena was born in Russia, and lived there for the majority of her life, even during the war. If times were tough in America, which she had no knowledge of at the time, then they had to have been worse here. When those of her kind surfaced from hiding she had no idea that she was one herself. She had vivid dreams of families that were not her own, even embarrassing moments of her friends in high school would replay in her mind despite her lack of knowledge of such events. It confused her of course, though it was brushed it off as mere coincidence. The war that began in America took longer to reach Europe, this included new law's. At the time Renata had not been aware of the existence of these supernatural beings that terrorized cities in the news; however, soon after laws were passed that prevented the interaction of humans and grims, her lover of three years confessed to her that he was not human. It was a huge shock of course. Not only was the world being destroyed, but her relationship with her childhood friend, now life partner, was considered treason and against the law. Never had she committed a crime before this, though it was obvious that the radical grims that attacked cities freely had given a bad name to all of their race. Rena knew that if she was found out that she would be killed, if not both of them. Regardless of what was wrong to the governments standard, Rena stayed with her husband and ran. Even though there was more action in the surrounding countries, Russia had been a dangerous place like any other. The UN Agents were harsher, killing groups of grim on public television to serve as an example. The fear of death always tugged at the heels of the two love birds, until it finally snared a leg. While in hiding in a small town miles away from any large city, Ivan set them up in a family owned B&B to wait for help in the form of friends and family of his. Once they met with his allies, they were promised to be taken to a safe place away from the chaos. Though neither of them had reached that sanctuary. Radical members from an anti-human faction broke into their room at night. When Ivan recognized them it was apparent that these grims had been after them in addition to the government. There were four, or possibly more, it had happened quite too quickly for her to focus on anyone but her lover. One of them forced her to the wall, the wood behind the wallpaper had torn and broken until it had restrained her limbs, preventing her from being of any help. They had found out that Ivan refused recruitment to their faction and had come to figure out why. When they heard that Ivan had been with a human they thought it was a joke. They mistook Rena for a human of course, due to her reaction and utter shock. She had no physical enhancements or superhuman strength. Her body was still easily breakable, and she didn't emit any powers in defense. Without sufficient proof how else were they to have seen her? They made her watch as one set him a blaze in a blue and white surge of flames, before setting the rest of the building on fire. She'd escaped with wrists and legs covered in splinters, but alive nonetheless. Rena never got the chance to meet her lovers family and friends, and instead stead laid low. Two years later she'd been caught by the government, since that time having discovered her ability. She'd used it to cover her tracks though clearly the government had an upper hand. Unlike the earlier years of the war, at this time they were accepting surrender, and Rena took it. She'd seen the opportunity of revenge it provided and willingly signed up to take down the 'enemy'. After being transformed from someone of much vulnerability her expressions were hard, her emotions more detached, and her judgement more black and white. These were good traits that the government sought to use in her. Rena was the first to be suggested for the New Hope project, and she took the responsibility immediately after being offered. Even though she is undercover as a human on the island, she is more then willing to fulfill her duties and accomplish the goal of the UN at any cost. misc. - She may be fairly indifferent, but she does have feelings. Rena is very restrictive with how they are expressed in her face however, thus when she's in different moods it is rare for her to truly express them freely as others would. - Rena is actually a very sad individual. There's not a single day she doesn't think about Ivan. Though these memories of him are what keep her motivated to destroy the grim. - She is an insomniac and frequently lacks a good nights sleep. This is caused not only by her horrid memories of the past, but from the memories that she incidentally absorbs after tinkering in someones brain. It's like a sticky residue that won't come off the skin, to put it in perspective. There are so many memories and thoughts that she has been left with, that sometimes she mistakes them as her own and has difficulty differentiating what belongs to her own life. This is what also creates the fear of forgetting about Ivan, with someone elses past memories replacing her own. ooc info user: Kain contact preference: PM MEH other characters: Eri, Elaina |
