THE PLOT

If you had told a person that superheros were real, beings with unique abilities unmatched by us humans, there's no doubt you would be labeled a lunatic. However in the current era it is common knowledge that super humans do exist. The year 2012 was professed to be the beginning of the end of the world, though instead it ended up being the beginning of a revolution between races. They were called 'grim' by humans during the war, a sort of slur that just stuck to this day. The reasons behind the initial appearances are still not known, however, all can agree that the beginning of these super humans was the start of nothing but suffering between both races for decades. The grim brought on World War III, an event that lasted nearly half a century.

After decades of repair, and with much help from those lesser radical grim, the world has repaired its infrastructure and government. Though nothing is as it once was, the current year, 2065 had brought in an era of hope, and peace with both sides exhausted from the constant fighting peace treaties were made, and reserves were established. With the grim people now the majority of the population, they essentially took over the government and reestablished laws to help not only protect those of their own kind but of the human species (along with others that were 'created' during the war) as well.

Good intentions and changed hearts. The new leaders of the world preach peace though in this new world there is still heavy racism and hate groups established in all communities. Though this would be a minor issue, if it wasn't for the secret project formed by an underground testing facility funded by a secret sect of the government. Project Gen.Evo (Generation Evolution) was created within the same year of the peace treaties. The general public doesn't know a thing about it, however the meaning behind this secret project rings clear: The racial scale does not meet evenly. Not everyone was created equal. Therefore, the weak must fight or parish.

THE SETTING

the era

Gen.Evo takes place in an alternate universe parallel to our own. The current year is 2065. Advances in technology are greater than our own, though since the war the grim have moved society towards a more green and environmentally conscious age. While humans had to accommodate for the lack of powers with technology the grim had little to no use for it. Only in the human reservations is such primitive technology used -such as less modern vehicles (those that we would see today), cds, oil and gas run machines, clunky forms of robots -some of the first generations created. Keep in mind that most of these technologies would be -for the most part- broken or hard to come by. Because the grim have very little use for such high tech, production and replacement for such things is expensive.

the human territories

These reservations are dispersed around the world. Their communities vary in size though most are small and conservative. Since the end of World War III the new government has made some effort to rebuild these plots of land, however most of the infrastructures here are old and warn. Some communities have it better than others though these reservations are slums in comparison to any community outside of them.

Typically the areas that surround these reservations are leveled. The land has been destroyed around them from the war, and no effort has been set in place to clean up the rubble and desolation that surrounds these human territories. Borders were established around these communities to keep both grim and human kind safe from potential terrorist attacks as a precaution, though no real threat from the human communities has ever been acknowledged.

With the war far over the living quality has positively changed for these human communities. Food prices have gone down greatly due to the grim who help maintain and grow crops, and without guards marching down the streets at a constant rate people are more free to leave their homes. However this area is still locked down tightly. The government is still on constant watch for grim that pass the border illegally, and still patrol the area discreetly just in case they case they catch a stray. Radical grim clans still heavily exist and thus pose far more of a threat towards humans, rather than the other way around. Even though most see these regulations as bothersome and intimidating it is only to keep these human populations safe.

the grim society

Representing the now highest population are the grim, and with their numbers they also control the majority of the Earth's land. Their quality of life far surpasses that of human's and all other species -except for perhaps zombies though they are still not entirely equal.

Their cities are pristine. After the war the clean up for the battle grounds was completed in record time, with the help of those uniquely gifted to aid in taking care of the job. Clunky technology is no longer used, these people having no use for it as most have abilities that work around most problems. Hospitals have healers, plants and farms are grown year round with the help of those with the right 'touch'. Though despite most human technology no longer of use, not all has gone to waste. Comforts such as television, and internet are all still very common, and are much more advanced as you can imagine.

The grim have adopted sports teams, and the entertainment industry. You can't turn on the TV and not see a single super human on the screen, and you would think that with their numbers no longer in the minority that they would be sated, however there is still a heavy prejudice against humans. Their status may be the highest in the world, and they may have won WWIII but apparently after years of hiding many are still bitter. Though with their quality of living being far more superior than the human population, they have little room to complain.

the island

This location cannot be found on any map, nor does it exist according to the government, however it is very real. The Island itself is south of the border, though is forever under strict clearance, not that you would be able to find it willingly in the first place. Only a select sect of the government are aware of it's exact location and how to cross into it's plane of existence. Essentially it resides under a 'Bermuda triangle' effected zone. The space occupying it's own time zone separate from the one it is supposedly residing in, by 1 Day 33 minutes and 24 seconds.

The Island itself has no name, as far as those who are brought to it are concerned, and is more or less specified by its affiliation with the Gen.Evo project. Because it exists essentially in it's on dimension the government has learned to manipulate it without harming the rest of planet Earth in the process. Weather manipulation, and the introduction of animals and plant life are one of the many things that can be controlled within it's boundaries, providing the perfect testing ground for experiments such as the Gen.Evo project and many other social experiments the government has considered to set forth within the coming years.

The expanse of land is approximately 2100 square miles, nearly two and a half times the size of Okinawa, and about half the size of Hawaii, the largest Hawaiian island. It's native landscape is tropical, thick forested, flourishing with wildlife similar to what you would find in South America and similar rainforest like climates. With that being said the Island itself houses many dangers not man made. Snakes, spiders, and even some of the fish are poisonous and harmful to body.

the gen.evo project

Currently classified as a 'social experiment', civilian adolescence are being brought to the island on expense paid trips -more commonly associated with school and education. They are taken to the Island instead however, where a multitude of 'tests' are conducted. The ultimate goal for the project is to assess the survival capabilities of each race when put under an isolated 'event' -though this is one of many goals that the project desires to carry out.

The majority of the projects associates are grim, so those chosen are obviously bias when brought to this place, however those civilians brought to the Island do not receive any more privileged than the next adolescent. The civilians located on the island are taken via airplane - humans and hybrids in one flight, grim and zombies on another. Each group of 50 having gone through various treatments before their departure. Such treatments involving various doctors appointments to ensure their health for the arrival and to further evaluate their progress during the experiments. All 100 are given shots consisting of tracking devices that would allow the government to monitor them at all times once on the island. Though this information was hidden from them, and the shots they received were said to be vaccines to prevent viruses or disease they may acquire on the Island.

Some government agents will be hidden, passing off as teachers, staff, or flight attendants. Though once arriving most will never see these individuals again. Oh and yes of course, there are cameras everywhere on the Island, even inside. With all these procedures under way, the initial test trial of experiment one is now underway.

[NOTE: be forewarned that all civs on the island run the chance of death. If you volunteer as one of the 100, your character will most likely die. Once you receive a PSA on the Island, all threads will become death enabled. Good luck~]
